La Liga demand investigation into Barcelona’s financial reports

La Liga president Javier Tebas has requested an investigation into Barcelona’s latest financial reports amid concerns over the truth behind the numbers.

Former president Jose Maria Bartomeu recently accused Barcelona of exaggerating their financial woes, suggesting that the €1.35m debt claimed by current chief Joan Laporta is twice as high as the actual figure.

Bartomeu questioned how Barcelona had arrived at the figures mentioned in their financial report, and that appears to have given Tebas cause for concern as La Vanguardia claim he is pushing for an investigation into the results.

Tebas disagrees with Barcelona‘s claims and has requested an audit from the Superior Sports Council to get the bottom of the issue.

The La Liga chief has previously questioned Barcelona’s public statements about their finances.
